We caught up with Musical.ly star and all round babe, Amelia Gething, to get the 411. We talk about how she got into the app, her fave people to follow & where she gets her inspiration from! Read the full Q&A below.
Tell us about how you got started on Musical.ly
I started making videos on the app dubsmash which is similar to musical.ly but doesn't have as many features. My friend suggested I get Musical.ly as you can upload your videos for people to see! I really enjoyed making little scenes out of the audios on the app and it was just something I did for fun.
What do you love most about the app?
I really love the variety of things you can post on the app, there's so much creativity behind so many of the videos because of the wide range of video types. There’s everything from dancing, singing, lipsyncing to comedy videos!
Who are your favourite people to follow?
I love so many people on the app but a few of my favourites are Jacob Sartorious, Haylo Hayley, Houssein, Kristen Hancher, Lucy Maguire & loads more
Where do you get your inspiration from for your videos?
I usually get inspiration from the audio I'm using, but when I make my own sketches I usually base them on real life situations but obv making them a bit more dramatic. Sometimes I will just think up a really random idea and turn it into a short video!
Who was your favourite performer at The BRIT Awards?
My favourite performer was The 1975, I really enjoyed their stage presence, it sounded amazing live and I loved the outfits they were wearing too!
Who are your favourite British music artists and why?
I really love Ed Sheeran and Coldplay and I'm obsessed with Ed Sheeran's new songs they're totally amazing.
Who would you most like to duet with on Musical.ly?
I would love to duet with Kristen Hancher and make a comedy video with her, she's so funny!
