Top five new season staples

What should every Spring wardrobe include? Stylist, Hannah Lewis took us through her closet to show us her top five picks for the season ahead. If you’re looking for a wardrobe spring clean or want to make your capsule collection watertight, add Hannah’s picks into your rotation. From statement coats to oversized tailored trousers, it’s time to embrace the new.

In our hearts it’s Spring but technically it’s still Winter and feels like it. A statement coat is an all-year round staple if you live in the UK but especially during these earlier months. Pick a coat that works well with your everyday wardrobe and makes you feel amazing. Stick with something neutral and plain or if you’re going for a bold colour, choose a block rather than a print. It’s way more versatile that way.

Shop Coats & Jackets

We’ve never regretted buying a jumper and neither will you. They’re forever pieces that are always worth the investment. Keep warm and look cute with an oversized cable knit jumper. Keep your colour palette neutral if that’s your thing or push the boat out and brighten up your jumper draw with fuschia pink or electric blue. Forget a scarf and go for a thick roll neck option to cover all your bases.

Shop Jumpers & Cardigans

Do you mean business? Well, you’ll look like you do wearing a crisp white shirt. Whether you’re delivering a pitch or just love the tailored look, a white shirt is the ultimate ‘don’t mess with me’ piece. Pair with tailored trousers and squeaky-clean white trainers for an effortless 9-5 look or with a slouchy pair of jeans and mules for drinks with the girls. Oh, and sunnies! Never forget sunnies.

Shop White Blouses & Shirts

Can you keep a secret? This is our favourite out of Hannah’s picks. A bodycon midi dress in a neutral shade is just so versatile! Dress it up with strappy heels and shoulder bag or down with flats and a chunky knit. Got a style dilemma? We’d put money on a midi dress saving the day. Figure flattering and ridiculously comfy, we can’t think of anything we don’t approve of.

Shop Midi Dresses

The bigger the better and when it comes to trousers we’d have to agree. There’s a time and place for skinny jeans (2005) but wide leg trousers will always have a space in our hearts. If your aesthetic is effortlessly cool with a Scandi twist, add-to-bag immediately. Take note of Hannah’s look and pair with a graphic tee, slip on ballet pumps and an oversized wool coat. Or for fancier occasions, a skin tight crop top and towering boots will do the ‘who’s that?’ trick.
