SPOTTED ON THE RED CARPET - BFAS

Reeling from the unexpected death of African American designer Virgil Abloh, this year's British Fashion Awards were bitter sweet.. Back in-person for the first time since 2019,  it was a moment for the industry to get together, celebrate his life and their shared love of fashion. Winners included designers Kim Jones, Harris Reed and Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Edward Enninful. The looks were, as expected, worth the two year wait and we spotted some RI outfits on the red carpet which are guaranteed to become future icons. What? Like, we wouldn’t be invited to the fashion event of the year? Please.

Last night, model,  writer and founder of Squish Beauty, Charli Howard, was a vision in pink. Wearing a custom made River Island gown, she embodied our favourite colour combo, pink and red, every time she walked the carpet. Giving off serious Jessica Rabbit energy, we can’t get enough of this all-pink moment that oozes Hollywood glamour. From the magenta silk gloves to her RI platform heels, it was Sophia-Loren-worthy perfection. In a sea of LBDs, Charli stood out from the crowd and we can’t get her out of our heads. Assignment, understood.

This is our definition of a ‘champagne supernova’ but Anaïs Gallagher’s dad, Noel, may have had other ideas. Dressed in head-to-toe RI, Anaïs walked the red carpet in an all-powerful silky black look. Think LBD all grown up with the high neckline and midi length but with a cheeky slit to flash some skin - it is The Fashion Awards after all. Styled with black stilettos and a beaded bag, this dress exudes serious sophistication. We’ll take one too, please.

You know we adore a borrowed-from-the-boys moment and who better to rock a full on tux than Harriet Rose? Talented Presenter and DJ, Harriet was the woman we wanted to carry off this subversive grunge look and she exceeded all our expectations. It doesn’t get sexier than a RI Studio tailored suit styled with nothing underneath but add a pair of fluffy black stiletto heels into the mix and you’ve got yourself a party look everyone will be talking about.

Guys, take notes, this is how you make black tie your own. Actor, Tom Moutchi, wasn’t playing last night at the Fashion Awards, dressed in a full RI look that made an impact. Forgoing a tie gave Tom’s suited and booted look some edge and made an otherwise formal look seem like a breath of fresh air. Leaving his top shirt buttons undone was another touch of styling genius that didn’t go unnoticed by us. We see you Tom and we’re impressed.
