HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR CASHMERE

If you're going to invest in anything for this season and beyond (especially if you live under grey skies 70% of the year), it needs to be cashmere. These are the ultimate the care tips to go with your new cashmere bestie, to keep it looking amazing for years to come. As shared by our in-house expert and senior knitwear technologist, Debbie.

Cashmere is the J-Lo of knitwear. Super-luxe, elegant, timeless, and will look just as chic 10 (or 20) years from now.

But you've got to look after it just right for it to keep on giving.

Keep things very delicate with a mild detergent or baby shampoo.

Use the 'handwash' or cold/lukewarm cycle on your machine.

To dry cashmere, grab a towel and lay it out on the floor or a table.

To prevent your piece from losing its form, gently squeeze it rather than wringing or twisting it.

If it starts to pill (you know, those small, fuzzy  balls of fibre),  gently use a fabric shaver or de-pilling comb.

Remember, we're wearing outfits on repeat and making our essentials last – you can patch any small holes with a needle and thread, but take your beloved cashmere knits to professionals for any natural wear and tear.

One last tip from our senior knitwear technologist? "Always wear with a smile". Cute.
