Looks Are Served With Lauren Arthur & Jodie Wood

This spring we're inviting you to take a seat at our table, where looks and laughter are served side by side. It's the simple things in life that make us happy, and we’re *so* ready to reconnect with old, new or soon-to-be friends. Any reason to celebrate, we'll take it.

This week we’re dining with our friends @laurenarthur and @jodiewood to find out what food means to them...

What do you love most about the city that you live in?

Jodie:  Dublin is rooted in culture; the city feels alive here.

Lauren: Everyone is so friendly, there is always something to do, a show to go to, pop up restaurants and loads for good food.

What’s your favourite food and why?

Jodie: Pasta, pasta and pasta – it has to be Italian for me.

Lauren: It's close but I have to say a Chinese takeaway or burger and chips!

Jodie: A Chinese takeaway is just so Irish!

If you had to choose: brunch, lunch, dinner or cocktails?

Jodie: That’s a good question, I think for me definitely dinner. Any excuse to get dolled up in River Island and have a long leisurely dinner with friends, I love it.

Lauren: I would have to say brunch, you can get equally as glam, we always do and I just love stacked pancakes with a mimosa on the side.

If you could choose any other city to live in because of its cuisine, where would it be and why?

Both: Rome, or anywhere in Italy.

Jodie: The pizza, the pasta the good wine, what more could you want.

Lauren: And the cheese! Just delicious.

Do you have any favourite memories growing up that revolve around food?

Lauren: Family holidays always bring up lots of memories around meals, ice cream trucks pulling up on the street for a 99 in the summer or Shepherd's pie on a cosy winter’s day after school.

What does food represent to you?

Lauren:  Food represents my most relaxed time of the day. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, brunch with friends. It’s a time to chill out, enjoy the moment and the delicious meal in front of you.

Food can say a lot about someone, what does your favourite food say about you?

Lauren: I have such a hard time choosing my favourite food but If I had to pick it would be burgers and fries. The meal itself reminds me of family holidays to the states and bbq’s in the summer. It’s the memories of certain foods that are sometimes the sweetest.
