Our Favourite Weekend Breaks & What To Wear
We know it’s only been autumn for five minutes, but we just know you’re already in need of a well-deserved break. Not only are we here to inspire you with where to go for neat little weekend break but also what to pack in our handy guide.
Manchester
We’d recommend taking the plans out of your group chat and heading to Manchester (and not just for our amazing Trafford Centre store, we promise). Paint the town red at the legendary O2 Ritz nightclub. Or head to Deansgate Locks to stay in one place but have a variety of DJs. Try Tribeca with a hint of New York style jazz and R’n’B – match the vibe with a slinky slip dress and barely-there heels to pretend you’re Michelle Pfeiffer in The Fabulous Baker Boys for a few hours.
Birmingham
Heading for a night out with your girls, but want to get out of town? Birmingham’s your city. Head to Birmingham Comedy Festival from 6-15 October for 10 performances across the city. There’s the Ikon Gallery for a taste of contemporary art and nearby Pop World bar for late night dancing. From the 2nd, make sure to stop by the Frankfurt Christmas Market for some mulled wine and schnitzels. We’d recommend packing a few jeans-and-a-nice-top coded looks – basically, go casual, but ready for any possibility 👀.
York
For picturesque family walks or a couples getaway, York is your final destination. Reserve a table at the famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms. Head to the Shambles, a medieval shopping street with food markets – just tell the kids you’re in Diagon Alley. It gets pretty chilly this time of year, so layer a thick shacket over a plain tee with straight-leg jeans and and biker boots for a day of markets and walks down the River Ouse.
Edinburgh
Whether you’re there for culture, sight-seeing or shopping (did we mention our new Fort Kinnaird store is now open?), a classic cosy, fringed knit, slip skirt and western boot combo ticks all the boxes for your city break. Edinburgh is perfect for exploring historical fortresses, statues and castles – side note, Edinburgh Castle is Scotland’s most visited attraction so make sure it’s at the top of your list for exploring.
